Praia do Ancão is located in the Ria Formosa Natural Park and is characterized by an extensive sandy beach and vast dune fields, full of aromatic plants. It has ample space for parking, beach support services and surveillance in the bathing season.
There is tarred road access from Almancil, towards Garrão/Ancão, for 7 kilometers. Through the tourist resort, a 1.5-kilometer dirt road begins.
The municipality of Faro encompasses the peninsula of Ancão and the islands of Barreta (Deserta) and Culatra. Here is also present the Ria Formosa Natural Park, symbol of a remarkable ecological biodiversity.

The municipality of Olhão has five beaches, located in the Ria Formosa Natural Park. Fuseta Beach is located in the western part of Armona Island, in front of the village of Fuseta. Its sand is extensive and deserted, and benefits from the formation of natural pools in the low sea. There are beach support services and surveillance in the bathing season.
Access to this which is one of the warmest beaches in the Algarve is by boat, from the Fuseta Pier, with ample parking next to the boarding pier.
The coast of the municipality of Tavira is sandy, with fine sand and warm water. In its eastern area, is located the Island of Cabanas, located in a narrow strip of sand that extends to the bar of Cacela.
Its beach is located right in front of the village of Cabanas, with support and surveillance services in the bathing season. This is a region of good gastronomy, where you can (and should) taste delicacies such as oysters, clams, octopus or grilled fish.
Access by boat from the pier, on the marginal of Cabanas. Do not worry about the car, as there is plenty of parking.
This municipality extends along the coastal strip, between Tavira and Castro Marim to the mouth of the Guadiana River. Its beaches are calm and warm waters, so they attract many tourists in the bathing season.
Cacela Velha Beach is located at the eastern end of Cabanas Island, near the Cacela bar. In 2015, it was considered one of the 15 best beaches in the world, by the Spanish version of the magazine "Traveler".
The only less positive aspect is that it does not have beach support, nor surveillance in the bathing season. Go by boat from the pier of Sítio da Fábrica, about 1.5 kilometers from Cacela Velha. You can park next to the boarding place.
