Explore Lisbon aboard the mythical Tram 28

Tram 28 is much more than a means of transport: it is a living icon of the Portuguese capital. Since 1914, this small yellow car has been navigating the steep hills and narrow streets of Lisbon, offering travelers a unique experience that combines history, culture, and stunning scenery.

In about 40 minutes, between Martim Moniz and Prazeres, the route reveals some of the most authentic neighborhoods in the city:

  • Graça – The Senhora do Monte Viewpoint, the highest in Lisbon, opens up views over the Castle of São Jorge and the 25th of April bridge. The Monastery of São Vicente da Fora holds treasures of tiles and the Royal Pantheon of the Bragança dynasty.

  • Alfama – In Largo das Portas do Sol, Lisbon is shown on a postcard: red roofs, the Pantheon and the blue Tagus. The Santa Luzia viewpoint and the cooperative A Arte da Terra complete the cultural immersion.

  • Chiado – Literary district par excellence, with Fernando Pessoa immortalized in Café A Brasileira and Luís de Camões in the homonymous square. Here, tradition and bohemia coexist side by side.

  • Estrela – The trip ends next to the Basilica da Estrela and the Jardim da Estrela, a green refuge in the heart of the city. To top it all off, a dinner at the Michelin-starred Loco restaurant celebrates local flavors with contemporary creativity.

✨ Traveling on the 28 is to discover Lisbon at the rhythm of its neighborhoods, among viewpoints, monuments and literary memories. An experience that transforms every turn into history and every stop into discovery.
